Mavis Tires

A company that can trace its roots back to a bicycle shop in Mt. Vernon, New York, Mavis Tires started way back in 1949 by Victor Sorbaro. His shop, back then, had an amazing reputation for being a value oriented service shop grew quickly and expanded within the next few years. But it wasn’t till one day when a customer asked if Victor would be able to help repair a tire on his car that the legacy of Mavis tires really began. It wasn’t long after that event when people started coming in to Victor’s former Cycle Shop to have their car tires looked at and repaired. From then on, the Cycle shop became a full service shop and Vic Sorbaro, himself, earned the title of “The Tire King”. As his reputation became more widespread, so did his shop. In 1972, the Mavis Tire Supply was born. The family combined the letters of their names to come up with Mavis. Ma is for Marion, Vic is for Victor and the S is from their surname, Sorbaro.
Their shop carries more then 40 brands of tires which include Bridgestone, B.F. Goodrich, Cooper Tires, Uniroyal Tires, Firestone and Goodyear. The names alone speak of quality and excellence when it comes to manufacturing tires. Besides having more than 50 stores across the nation, they also offer customers the convenience of online shopping. You can simply log onto their site, look for the specific tire you want by browsing through size, the vehicle type and the brand. You also get to do a bit of comparison shopping as well, which is great when you are looking for the best possible tire deal.
