Looking for Reliable & Affordable BMX, Mountain, and Hybrid Bike Tires
Tips on Buying Bike Tires

Planning to buy a new tire for your bicycle? Choosing what tire to buy is not as easy as it seems. A lot of bike tires are available on the market today. You also have to consider many factors that will provide the best performance for your bike. Primarily, the kind of bike you own and what you use it for can largely influence your decision as to what type of bike tire you need to buy.
So what should you look for in a bike tire? First, you have to determine the right tire size for your bike. Tire size refers to the diameter of the rim on the wheel. Do you own a mountain bike or a hybrid? If you do, then you will need 26-inch or 27-inch tires. For BMX bikes, you have to buy a tire that fits a 20-inch wheel. Racing bikes need tires that fit wheels measuring 650C or 700C.
Aside from tire size, another important consideration when buying bike tires is the tread type. Ordinary riders opt for tires that have smooth tread pattern, while racers need very smooth tires that have less contact with the road. Mountain bike users should go for knobby tires because they are ideal for muddy or wet road surfaces. These bike tires, unlike those for racing, has more contact with the ground, thus they need more pedal power.
Lastly, you need to think about the durability of your new bike tire. If you’re using your bike everyday, then invest in a more expensive yet long-lasting tire. It’s best if the tire is puncture resistant, preferably with Kevlar reinforcement feature.
